Seven Days

So, the last few months have been a bit of a whirlwind and unfortunately blogging has had to take a backseat to make way for exciting developments; I landed my first proper internship with a magazines fashion department and in turn have had some amazing opportunities come my way. I 've also somehow wiggled my way down to a size 8/10 and the combination of the two has made way for a wardrobe overhaul! (any excuse)

The title of this post is a little bit of a porkie, these outfits were worn over six days (note the additional lazy coat shot) because Sunday was a write off! I also just really wanted to name a post after a Craig David song...just because.

There isn't a specific dress code at my work but telling someone you work in fashion when you look as if you got dressed in the dark isn't ideal so I guess I have made a little more effort with my wardrobe recently, plus I might meet prince charming on my wonderful commute to and from London each day (when pigs can fly)!

Outfit One - Skirt, Motel. Shirt, H&M. Tights, Primark. Boots, Ebay.
Outfit Two - Top and skirt both H&M. Bag, Ebay. rest as above.

Ive become a 'girly' dresser in that 50% of the time I'll be in a skirt, long gone are the days where I would opt for leggings monday-friday and I feel so much better for it! I love my jeans still but a skirt does feel a lot more feminine. I am in love with prints right now and the Motel mandala is one of my favorites, the versace inspired H&M top was a bargain at £15 and looks just as good with blue jeans. Also...those cosy thick black tights from Primark are a godsend!

Outfit three - Jumper, Topshop. Jeans, River Island. Boots, Ebay.
Outfit four - Top and jeans, River Island. Boots as above.
Outfit five - Coat, Glamourous. Scarf, ASOS.

My new favorite jeans, after the topshop Joni's are these Lana black skinnies from River Island, I'm all for embracing curves and a high waist emphasizes them, I have to thank my mum for blessing me with a tiny waist, even when I was bigger it still stayed tiny! Sometimes its nice to just chuck a top/jumper and jeans on...and when the end of the week is nearing that is definitely what I do! After a long search I finally found my perfect winter coat, a two tone oversized boyfriend style, it goes with everything and I don't have to worry about my skirt getting caught in the wind and having a Marilyn moment!

Outfit six - Shirt, H&M. Skirt, Missguided.
Outfit seven - Top, ASOS. Jeans, River island. Shoes, Ebay.

The outfit on the left had my colleagues saying 'sexy secretary' but I was actually going for 'schoolgirl chic' haha! I love tartan but much prefer the darker versions and hilariously the two zips on the front of this skirt actually zip all the way up...I have no idea why but its funny as hell! The final outfit was one I wore for 'quiet' drinks on Saturday night....we all know how that ends. The off the shoulder crop top is spot on for me..not too short and goes with everything...so I bought it in black as well...oops.
